I Believe in Karma

Last Friday a nurse went to visit my Dad (he's just had a big operation on his hip), whilst she was there she spotted my Mum was wearing Crocs and proceeded to give her a big lecture about how she shouldn't wear them because they are dangerous(?!!). Apparently the nurse had slipped over wearing a pair and is now set on a one woman mission to rid the world of these evil, dangerous, rubbery shoes. Crocs do seem to be quite a controversial form of footwear, people either love them or hate them. In our family we definitely love them and all have at least one pair each. So, when I heard about this I naturally defended the fabulous Croc and laughed about the nurse and her ridiculous tale of doom.........until that is karma stepped in..........

On Sunday, I popped out to the garden on dog poo patrol - like you do - and was hurrying back into the house to get out of the cold drizzly weather and..... whoosh...... it was as if the ground had been pulled away from beneath my feet and I ended up flat on my back! Obviously it wasn't my precious Crocs to blame, it was the slippery wet decking that caused me to fall. But, I can't help feeling I was being punished for laughing at the nurse.

Thankfully I wasn't badly injured, just a scabby elbow, but I feel I should issue a warning to everybody - whatever their taste in footwear - beware of wet decking!

Hi Sarah- thank you for stopping by at my place last week- and I'm sorry to read about this accident- I'm sure it wasn't the crocs, so many people wear them they can't be that bad- but it is funny how these things seem to happen directly related to something that has just happened- maybe it really is karma!
