Catch up.......again

The time is still racing by, I never seem to get enough done. I'm still behind at work, still behind with the housework (nothing new there though) and now I have an OU course (photography) to keep up with too ... I already feel like I have bitten off way more than I can chew and it doesn't even officially start until Monday!

Anyway, the good news is my eye has improved slightly, the bad news is that it still hasn't cleared up completely and I still have to go back in a week for a check-up and still have to wear glasses. My plan is to get them lasered as soon as possible but can't do that until I get the all-clear from the clinic.

So, feeling brave this week and it's SPS, so here goes.....no special lighting, no make-up, haven't even brushed my hair (what a slut!)

Yesterday was Cushion and although I own plenty of fluffy cushions my mind was blank as to an original way to photograph them so just enlisted the help of Fletch...

and before that (I did say I was behind) was Stamp. Again, totally lacking in inspiration and pretty short on time too but I did think this was a pretty little stamp...

I only wish I was the one sending postcards from Tenerife right now.

Failing Blogger

What a busy couple of weeks! The time has just flown by, work has been really busy and home too with the in-laws visiting and a friend staying for the weekend. Anyway, apart from those utterly lame excuses, last week I discovered I had an ulcer on my eye which meant that I had to avoid using the screen so much. Now I'm having to wear glasses because I can't use my contact lenses until I get the all clear from the eye clinic but since I find them so uncomfortable to wear I'm walking around in a fuzzy hazy world most of the time at the moment.......that's my excuse if my photos look out of focus!

Anyway, thought I'd try and catch up with a HS:MS a bit so here goes:

Catch up!

Blimey, I forgot how time consuming work is.....and I only work part-time! It's such a struggle getting back into it after six weeks though and I feel like I never had a break already - even after just a couple of days.

So, I'm way behind with HS:MS.

Feast: Ok, I know that to most this wouldn't seem much of a feast but by the time I got home from work today I was absolutely starving so this looked fantastic to me and I couldn't take too much time faffing about with the camera because I couldn't wait to eat it!

Hold & Thoughtful: Thoughtful really stumped me especially as I've had so little spare time to think! So, I'm cheating.......this is Tess (another old photo that I have scanned) Thoughtfully Holding something:

Fall

I wish I'd known this one was coming up - I would have taken a photo of our garden wall when it fell over on Saturday morning! Unfortunately I can't even take a photo of the ruins because super-efficient Steven has already rebuilt it.

Really struggled with today's word. I took this picture...

but I have to admit I wasn't very happy with it so I thought I'd cheat a bit and use this one instead which I took at Gullfoss Falls on a day trip to Iceland a couple of years ago...

Really late today too as it's been a busy old day. I was working this morning and then had to take the kids to Brantano to get their school shoes. Thankfully Tess got hers not long before the holidays because it cost over £100 for the other two to get kitted out with school and sports shoes - ouch! Then this evening we still had the Tesco trip to endure since I failed and didn't get a home delivery slot booked in time. Now I just want to eat my dinner and go to bed...first school run of the term tomorrow, have no idea how I'm going to cope!

HS:MS - SOS

Thought I'd try and get mine done a bit earlier today especially as I have a mammoth washing, tidying and generally preparing for return to school/work day ahead of me.

Recently I started going through the dozens of boxes I have full of old photographs (35mm) and scanning the best ones into the pc. Obviously they don't come out as sharp as digital photos but somehow I think that adds to their charm.

This is one of my favourites - it's my eldest, Tess, she's 14 now and when I look at this it reminds me that once upon a time she wasn't a grumpy, moody, lazy, self-conscious teenager! (She's still lovely though)

Beetles

Last night was Beetle and Combi night on the Quay, the last one of the season and the only one we have managed to make it to this year. I stupidly waited until after we'd been to the pub before getting my camera out, by which time it was pretty dark, but here is Steven's mistress..

In case you're wondering why the boot lid is up - it's because Steven spent months renovating the engine - on my dining room table - so it looks like this

So, this morning I had to come up with a self-portrait for HS:MS - arrgghh! I'm incredibly camera shy so I got a couple of super-models to help me out...

I might lose my camera on Saturdays from now on!
